Bio-Modular® Shoulder System

Biomet’s Bio-Modular® total shoulder replacement is one of the most successful implants in the history of shoulder replacement. It uses modular components that allow your surgeon to select the most appropriately sized implant. This option may enable your surgeon to better re-create the normal length of your humerus, which is important in tensioning the soft tissues and providing maximum postoperative function.

The Bio-Modular® shoulder features a titanium stem. Titanium is an excellent material for joint implants because it is more biocompatible (bone friendly) than other metals. The top of the stem also features a porous coating of titanium alloy. The porous coating promotes increased fixation within the upper arm bone to add implant stability and longevity.
