Echo™ Hip System
Options and instruments designed for patients and surgeons
The Echo™ Hip System, based on Biomet’s proven Bi-Metric® and Integral® femoral component designs,1-2 offers new design features, three stem options and customizable instrumentation to adequately address the needs of diverse fracture patients.
Echo™ Hip System Design Features
The Echo™ FX Stem is similar to the traditional Biomet® hip fracture stem. It is a dual purpose stem that can be cemented or press-fit. Key design features include:
Echo™ Hip System Design Features
- Reduced neck geometry enhances potential range of motion
- Modified insertion hole allows for rotational control
- Modified inserter aides in controlling version upon impaction
- Polished proximal neck region
The Echo™ FX Stem is similar to the traditional Biomet® hip fracture stem. It is a dual purpose stem that can be cemented or press-fit. Key design features include:
- Forged cobalt chromium alloy
- Roughened Interlok® finish
- Six sizes: 7–17mm (2mm increments)
- Utilizes Exact™/Alliance® RPP broaches with new Echo™ trunnions
- Collarless and forged titanium alloy
- Interlok® surface finish to promote a secure bone on-growth implant fixation
- Enhanced fixation fins proximally in anterior and posterior regions
- Tremendous size range to provide for canal-filling fit: 7–19mm (1 mm increments)
- Full and reduced proximal profile to accommodate a wider range of femoral canals
- Standard and lateralized offset options to restore biomechanics
- Reduced neck geometry to allow for increased ROM and decreased risk of neck impingement
- Polished neck designed to reduce debris should impingement occur
- Polished bullet-shape distal tip to reduce distal stresses
*additional broach instrumentation required for full profile option with fracture instrumentation
