Financial Analyst

Requirements:
Biomet, a leading manufacturer of orthopedic devices, has two openings in its Parsippany, NJ offices for a Financial Analyst. This position is primarily responsible for developing, interpreting, and implementing complex financial and accounting concepts/techniques for financial planning and analysis. Primary responsibilities include the following. Additional duties may be assigned.
  • Coordinates with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, acquisition activity, new business planning, trended future requirements, government requirements, and operating forecasts.
  • Acts as a Business Partner to the Spine Marketing, Trauma Marketing and Research and Development Teams.
  • Assists Director, Financial Planning and Analysis in the development of the budget, planning, and other corporate financial requirements.
  • Will develop Five Year Strategic Plan and Annual Sales Budget and Operating Budget.
  • Will develop Competitive Benchmarking, New Product Financials and Quantify financial requirements and impact of product launches.
  • Analyzes financial information to determine present and future financial performance. Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly.
  • Establishes databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing future plans and forecasts.
  • Works with Distribution on set utilization.
  • Evaluates complex profit plans, operating records, and financial statements. Conducts special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepares recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action.
  • Interprets and applies corporate financial policies, government legislation, and accounting theory.
  • Presents financial data at Operational Trauma and Spine staff meetings.

Education/Experience:

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree.
  • At least four to six years experience within a manufacturing environment.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have good PC skills and be proficient using the following: MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, MS Word and Internet software.
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) desirable.
